Marshalling

Ohh, yeah, I am a TT marshal. Not fully qualified yet, but I will be by the end of Friday. It's so cool! I get my orange tabard and my armband, and have the powers of a constable and can go on closed roads and can arrest spectators... I haven't had to do that yet, so it's all good. But it's very exciting, because there's always the possiblity that a rider will come in (hopefully their decision; not a crash). I marshal at the 11th milestone with lots of nice people, but before that I helped at the scoreboard with the Scouts. All very fun.

Lovely Sayings

I love phrases! I keep finding absolutely insane and lovely ones in random songs and books (not all of which I can remember). Such as:

I wrote your name upon the back of my hand, slept upon it, then I woke up with it backwards on my face, reading forwards from my mirror to my heart.
~ Twilight Omens - Franz Ferdinand

Isn't that lovely? Also:

Now the sky could be blue, I don't mind, without you it's a waste of time.
~ Strawberry Swing - Coldplay

Or:

The wrinkles around his lips and nose gathered together as though they existed solely to bear up his smile.
~ The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale

I really want to find someone who I can use that phrase to describe. And, while we're on the subject of phrases and other wordy stuff, I found an very strange description of a Teletubbies episode. Two, in fact:

'Laa-Laa comes and joins the others to watch some children squeezing things.'

And:

'The Teletubbies watch a group of children washing their goat in the river.'

Anyway, see any cool phrases, please write 'em down, and I shall endeavour to incorporate them into my everyday speech.

Things I Love At The Moment

Parkour
I'm really interested in PK now. I will probably never actually be able to do it, but I think it's a very good philosophy and very cool to watch. I am especially enamoured of David Belle, as he starred in Banlieue 13, un film français que mes copains et moi avons regardé depuis trois jours. How was that for French? Ohh yeah... Anyway, he's absolutely cool and lovely, and here he is!:

Jeff Lang
An Australian guitarist, he came to the Isle of Man (Peel Centenary Centre, to be exact) and did an absolutely phenomenal gig, which I loved, and as a consequence bought two of his CDs. He's much better live, but that's normally the case. Anyway, I can say that I've seen him live, so it's all good. Here he is:

Errm... let's leave it at that for now
I'm sure there will be many more things to be obsessed about soon.
Bye bye!

Hello!

Hmm... A blog! This'll be interesting. I don't really have that much to write about, but I'm sure somewhere in my life there will be something of note to tell to the world. Like my being a celibate Jedi, for example. That's quite interesting. I could write stories on here, rant, rave, whatever. Should be fun...
